Shit!!! Im happy – I did get to be 3 place winner in the challenge for Metal Clay Europa challenge #5 – Goldie Bronze – Its a honore to be judged by Anna Mazon I admire her work a lot 🙂
Here they are!!! The results of the 5th Metal Clay Europe Challenge. A BIG thank you to Anna Anna Mazoń for judging for us, and to Waldo Iłowieckifor his generous prizes of Goldie Bronze, especially as he has kindly added a fourth prize!!! These are the winners, with Anna’s comments.
1st place – Michela Verani – “Narcissus” ring – I love both the story behind the design (really original approach to “love” theme) and the wonderful execution. This little raven and the well, covered with greenery, is simply splendid. It’s a whole story captured in a little sculpture. Totally captivating.
2nd place – Sylwia Radecka – dragon bracelet – I especially adore the use of textures and finishes in this piece. The wonderfully detailed dragon is contrasted with this rich, rough, matte backround. It would never look so good with any other choice of finish. Sylwia made some wonderful decisions here.
3rd place – René Nenne Blom – “Love poison” pendant – I like the construction of this piece, and that it has a bit of a dark, pirate feeling – very original. It looks like a treasure that could be found on a shore of a mysterious Caribbean island.
Special mention – Coleen White – dagger pendant – I liked it so much that I asked Waldo to add fourth prize – 50 grams of Goldie – and he agreed 🙂 I’m really impressed by this combo of materials – bronze and bone – how well they go together and how clever the construction is. Congratulations to the winners and THANK YOU so much to EVERYONE who entered. You are all winners as far as Dee and I are concerned, because you rose to our challenge and produced fantastic work!!!
